7.30PM // The Darryn Farrugia Project
THURSDAY OCTOBER 12TH
PLS NOTE: DOORS OPEN AT 7PM FOR A 7.30PM SHOWTIME
(SHOW DURATION IS 7.30PM-9.30PM)
One of Melbourne's most accomplished and locally loved drummers, Darryn Farrugia is a familiar face on Australian stages, behind some of our greatest musicians. So it's a rare treat to see him leading an ensemble of his own, performing his original compositions and arrangements. His debut album, ‘Seeds’ was released in 2012, however never officially 'launched', so this project is a personal homage to this collection of tunes and the influences that inspire it.
Stylistically the music draws from cinematic moods, jazz and highly rhythmic and melodic themes with a focus on improvisation and interplay.
